Welcome Dr. Rebekah Travis!

Upside Therapy is thrilled to announce the recent addition to our therapy and evaluation team, Dr. Rebekah Travis!  Dr. Travis is a licensed clinical psychologist, originally from Kentucky, where she received her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University.  Dr. Travis then went to the University of Kentucky to receive her Masters in Social Work, and then completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT).  While at FIT, Dr. Travis completed a concentration in Child and Family Clinical Psychology, and received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).  Dr. Travis completed an internship at the Tulsa Center for Child Psychology, and then completed a research and clinical fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center department of Pediatrics, studying Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Disabilities.

More recently, Dr. Travis was a faculty member at UT Southwestern within the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, where she performed early childhood and school aged multidisciplinary evaluations, participated in the international Autism BrainNet research project, and authored several autism treatment research projects.  She also enjoyed supervising students in graduate training.

Dr. Travis is an adult sibling of a person with autism, and she is an activist in terms of increasing awareness and support for neurodiverse individuals and their family members.  Dr. Travis enjoys both assessment and evaluation, as well as treatment for individuals with ASD.  She is also passionate about providing behavioral family therapy using the structure and fundamentals of PCIT, and helping children, adolescents, and adults impacted by trauma using her background in TF-CBT.  In her spare time, Dr. Travis enjoys reading, photography, and travel.
