
Jessy’s passion is helping individuals become their best selves. She has previously worked in an youth emergency center, a nonprofit clinic, transitional living residence program, a university counseling clinic, a university success program for students with disabilities, a community counseling clinic, both public and private schools, as well as providing home based therapy. She has worked with individuals and groups, primarily children and adolescents, with a focus on social interactions. Jessy is an advocate and has conducted research with LGBTQ+ adults over 50, as well as research on body image concerns. Jessy was the American Psychological Association Psychology of Women campus representative in 2016 and 2017.
Currently, in addition to her work at Upside, Jessy provides behavioral support and she also volunteers as a case manager for a transitional living program for homeless LGBTQ+ young adults. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Sam Houston State University. In her spare time, Jessy enjoys being outdoors and is part of a community of trail runners who train for ultramarathons and other endurance events.
