Upside Therapy Spring Groups

Upside Therapy is pleased to announce our next round of group therapy opportunities!  With all of our groups, Upside Therapy offers complimentary intake sessions to determine if the fit is appropriate, or to provide referrals if our group is not the best fit.

Our Teen Social Skills Group, facilitated by Lauren Roth, LPC-Intern, supervised by Keri Stitt, LPC-S, meets on Tuesday nights from 5:30-6:45, starting on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.  This teen group is appropriate for high-school aged teens who are struggling with social situations.  Individuals with ASD, ADHD, social anxiety, learning differences, or just need increased social support.  Our group includes planned structured activities to teach social skills in a fun and interactive way.

Our Young Adult Social Skills Group is also facilitated by Lauren Roth, LPC-Intern, supervised by Keri Stitt, LPC-S.  This group meets on Wednesday nights, from 6-7:15, starting on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.  This adult group is appropriate for young adults ages 18-29, who are looking for social support and skills, and includes discussion and interactive activities to connect young adults with one another.

We are also pleased to offer two parent support groups.  These groups will meet weekly on Wednesdays, facilitated by Barbara Crowley, LPC.  These groups are broken up by age of the child, with parents of children 13 and under who have social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties meeting on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:45 starting on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.  We also offer a parent support group specifically for parents of children 13 and older who are impacted by ASD, meeting Wednesdays from 6-7:15, starting on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.  These groups are designed for parents to connect and receive support from one another in a safe environment.

Upside Therapy is also pleased to offer an addition to our affirmative therapy offerings, a Gender Safe group for high school aged teens.  This group is co-facilitated by Dr. Oppenheimer and Lauren Roth, and is designed as a safe space for teens who are questioning gender identity, experiencing gender dysphoria, or who are considered gender diverse (including gender fluid, transgender, and non-binary identifying individuals). This support group is a place to connect with other gender diverse adolescents in a safe and therapeutic environment.  The group is held on Tuesday nights, from 7-8:15 starting on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.
